Star cellist Su-yeon disappears from her conductor fiance Sung-jin’s life, leaving nothing but a Dear John video and an empty house. While a hurting Sung-jin attempts to fill her seat in the orchestra, Mi-ju appears as her replacement, but soon winds up taking her place in the bedroom as well in this twisted erotic thriller. Starring Cho Yeo-jeong (Parasite), Song Seung-heon (A Better Tomorrow), and Park Ji-hyun (Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum). – synopsis via Well Go USA
HIDDEN FACE is directed by Kim Dae-woo and is a remake of a 2011 Spanish-Colombian film of the same name. I haven’t seen the original but I really enjoyed this. Both the acting and writing are solid. My only real issue is that some of the twists are presented in an overblown manner. To its credit, it is a classic noir thriller with a soft edge. Without giving away too much, think more like Hitchcock film with a certain feeling of uneasiness.

THE FINAL WORD 4/5
This is another great release of Korean cinema and for Well Go USA. At the time of publishing this review, I wasn’t able to screen the disc itself so the audio and video quality are unknown. That being said, I do recommend giving this movie a shot and this easiest way is on Blu-ray.
